The 7^th International Conference on Construction Engineering and Project Management (ICCEPM) and the Annual Conference of the Architectural Society of China-Construction Management Research Sector (ASC-CMRS), themed “Sustainable Construction and Management of Infrastructure”, was held in Chengdu from 28 October, 2017, to 29 October. The conference held by ASC-CMRS was hosted by Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Sichuan University. Its collaborators include Glodon and Lubansoft. The conference has also got supports from organizations such as Tsinghua University and China Building Materials Press. Over 400 scholars, experts in the field of project management from universities at home and abroad and research institutions, as well as business executives of well-known companies attended the conference. Prof. Wang Hao, one of the associate professors of MS&E took part in it at invitation.

     Discussions were unfolded surrounding the theme “Sustainable Construction and Management of Infrastructure” at the conference. After the opening ceremony on the morning of 28 October, there were four keynote speeches covering the review and discussion of China engineering consultations, the evaluation system of project management as a discipline, city elasticity and engineering management education. In the afternoon, two concurrent seminars were held, in which there were a total of 20 forum reports covering topics like engineering consultation and management, management of large-scale engineering projects, talent training of engineering management and citizen participation in decision-making of major public construction projects. On 29^th, the annual conference was held together with ICCEPM 2017. Six keynote reports made by professors from University of Sheffield, University of Reading and Hong Kong Polytechnic University conveyed thoughts of the academic frontier, provoking more inspirations and discussions.

     ASC-CMRS is a national academic research organization in the field of project management. The research sector is open to project construction, management front issues and major project demands, striving to promote the modernization of engineering management in China, raise the level of engineering construction, management as well as education and create the platform as well as bridge for industry-university-research exchanges. Since 2003, ASC-CMRS has been organizing annual conferences and publishing its journals – Annual Journal of Project Management. The conference has been one of the most influential academic meetings of project management in China, and its journal has been one of the most influential periodicals.

     The serial conferences have deepened the connection and exchanges between Department of Project Management and other universities at home and abroad. MS&E discussed about the issue of future cooperation with other universities, advancing discipline development at CUFE.
